The International Education Center at Diablo Valley College (IEC@DVC) is a fully-accredited English language school located in Concord (the heart of California’s San Francisco Bay Area). Since the year 2000, IEC@DVC has provided English language instruction and a path to college and university acceptance to students from more than 40 countries.

Why study at IEC@DVC?

Academic success

Students who complete the Advanced B level receive a TOEFL waiver to Diablo Valley College (no TOEFL score is required). Students also have the option of taking IEC@DVC’s Academic Bridge Program, which provides a guided and easy transition to DVC classes.

More than 95% of IEC@DVC students continue on to university after IEC@DVC. Many attend Diablo Valley College, which is the #1 feeder school for UC Berkeley and #2 for UC Davis. Students also attend California State Universities and private institutions. 

Student services

IEC@DVC’s numerous student services provide students the support needed to succeed inside and outside of the classroom.

Workshops. IEC@DVC provides many services for its students as they transition to life in the USA. Students can attend academic planning and training workshops to aid in understanding the enrollment, application, and transfer processes. IEC@DVC often schedules guest speakers from local universities and organizes campus tours to schools such as UC Davis and UC Berkeley.

Activities. IEC@DVC additionally organizes social and cultural activities for students. From ice cream socials and free movie days to trips to local museums or amusement parks, there is always something happening after class! Housing. IEC@DVC offers students the services of a Housing Coordinator who carefully selects warm and welcoming host families. Students also have the option of living in residential accommodations that are walking distance from Diablo Valley College.
