Instructions to Submit your print (PDF) application(s)

Follow these steps to submit your print application(s) for IEC@DVC or EducationUSA Academy.

  • Complete and send the 2021 application to IEC. Write your name exactly as it appears on your passport.
  • Send the $100 application fee (via check, Western Union money order, wire transfer, or credit card).
  • The express mail fee is $55 (adult programs only). This is mandatory for all IEC@DVC adult acceptance packages mailed to an international address.
  • Send proof of financial ability to meet the cost of tuition, fees, books, accommodation, and incidental expenses.
  • If you want to receive a Conditional Admission Letter to DVC, send your completed DVC application, official transcripts (if under 18 years of age), and payment of $50 (payable to DVC) together with your IEC application.

Application Deadlines

In order for students to have sufficient time to apply for a visa, purchase plane tickets, and make arrangements for a homestay, we strongly recommend that students apply at least two months before the beginning of the program.

IEC application deadlines are six weeks prior to the orientation date of the next upcoming session. Please contact us if you have a late application. Due to larger than expected enrollment numbers, we may close application deadlines earlier.

Additional Information

Medical Insurance

Medical insurance is $340 per 8-week session and is mandatory for all students on an F-1 visa. US residents or students on different visas are responsible for purchasing their own medical insurance. Payment is due the first Thursday of a new session. Once students pay the medical insurance fee, a medical insurance card will be created for them. If students need to visit the doctor BEFORE receiving their medical insurance card, IEC can provide students with temporary medical cards upon request. Please visit our medical insurance page for more information.

Medical insurance fees are NONREFUNDABLE, and the medical insurance policy purchased through IEC is ONLY available to students enrolled in classes. If you are no longer enrolled at IEC (because you leave the U.S., take a break in study, transfer to another school, etc.), you will NOT be covered by the insurance policy and cannot purchase insurance through IEC to cover you during this time you are not enrolled.

All new students take a placement test during orientation that determines the level of English that they will begin studying at IEC@DVC. The placement test assesses reading, writing, vocabulary, speaking, grammar, and listening in English.

Unfortunately, IEC does not offer courses for true beginners of English language learning. Prospective IEC students should have basic spelling skills, be able to write sentences, and be able to read and understand simple paragraphs. While students without these skills can still attend IEC, they should be prepared to hire a personal tutor and repeat the Foundation level class until these skills are mastered.

Refund Policy

Refund requests by new students must be made on the first day of class of a session in person or in writing for a full refund. For continuing students, refunds must be made prior to the end of the previous session and any change in the length of the program must be made in writing before the beginning of the next session.

Application fees are non-refundable.

Books and Materials

Expect to spend between $65 to $90 for books and materials for each 8-week session. All books may be purchased at the DVC Campus Bookstore.
