Submit your print (PDF) application

Follow these steps to submit your print application for IEC@DVC or EducationUSA.

  • Send the $100 application fee (via check, Western Union money order, wire transfer or credit card).
  • Express mail fee is $50 (Adult programs only). This is mandatory for all IEC@DVC adult application forms mailed to an international address.
  • Send proof of financial ability to meet the cost of tuition, fees, books, accommodations, and incidental expenses.
  • If you want to receive a Conditional Admission Letter to DVC, send your completed DVC application, official transcripts, and payment of $50 (payable to DVC) directly to the IEC address along with your 2018 IEC Application or 2019 IEC Application .

Application Deadlines

In order for students to have sufficient time to apply for a visa, purchase plane tickets, and make arrangement for homestay, we strongly recommend that students apply at least two months before the beginning of the program.

IEC application deadlines are six weeks prior to the orientation date of the next upcoming session. Please contact us if you have a late application. Due to larger than expected enrollment numbers, we may close application deadlines earlier.

Additional Information

Medical Insurance

Medical insurance is $270 per session and is mandatory for all students (only U.S. residents and students with government scholarships are excluded). Payment is due the first Thursday of a new session. Once students pay the medical insurance fee, a medical insurance card will be mailed to IEC for them to pick up. If students need to visit the doctor BEFORE receiving their medical insurance card, IEC can provide students with temporary medical cards upon request. Please visit our medical insurance page for more information.

Medical insurance fees are NONREFUNDABLE, and the medical insurance policy purchased through IEC is ONLY available to students enrolled in classes. If you are no longer enrolled at IEC (because you leave the U.S., take a break in study, transfer to another school, etc.), you will NOT be covered by the insurance policy and cannot purchase insurance through IEC to cover you during this time you are not enrolled.

Placement

All new students take a placement test during orientation that determines the level of English that they will begin studying at IEC@DVC. The placement test assesses reading, writing, speaking, grammar, and listening in English.

Unfortunately, IEC does not offer courses for true beginners of English language learning. Prospective IEC students should have basic spelling skills, be able to write sentences, and be able to read and understand simple paragraphs. While students without these skills can still attend IEC, they should be prepared to hire a personal tutor and repeat the foundation level class until these skills are mastered.

Refund Policy

IEC will refund unused tuition fees if they are requested in writing by the first day of class of a session. No refunds are made for a session after the first day of class. Any change in the length of a program must be made in writing before the beginning of the next session. If IEC asks a student to leave, the same refund policy applies.

Application and medical insurance fees are non-refundable.

Books and Materials

Expect to spend between $65 to $90 for books and materials for each 8-week session. All books may be purchased at the DVC Campus Bookstore.
