IEC@DVC Student Info

What is it like to be an IEC@DVC student?

Our students enjoy a mix of intensive classroom learning, social and academic-based afternoon activities, and weekends exploring Northern California. Get a glimpse of life as an English student in the San Francisco Bay Area!

IEC organizes many activities that allow students to explore Northern California and practice their English. Activities are social (such as movie days) or academic (such as trips to local universities).

Expect the following IEC@DVC activities:

  • Professional basketball and baseball games
  • Guest speakers, such as representatives from local colleges
  • Volunteer opportunities with local charities
  • Physical activities such as laser tag, ice skating, and paintball
  • Museum days in San Francisco
  • Hiking in local wildlife preserves
  • Beach days
  • Campus tours (UC Berkeley, UC Davis)

Visit our Activities Page for more information.

IEC@DVC works with Diablo Valley Homestay to provide students with warm and welcoming host families. IEC@DVC also offers furnished apartment rentals through InteRResidential.
